Colors & your logo.
Secondary in initial design phases, critical in implementation.
Unless you already have established corporate colors, the color schemes used in your new identity, at least during the initial design stages, should take a back seat to the overall design. In fact, many design purists will tell you that a logo should first be designed in black & white, as to insure clear reproduction when colors aren't available. While colors are extremely important in the use of your new corporate identity, they certainly shouldn't be what 'holds' your design together. Any logo that relies on color too much in the early stages of development is almost certain to have very serious drawbacks in its later implementation. And when it comes to deciding your new corporate colors, while you certainly don't have to be and expert in color theory, a little bit of knowledge can go a long way. (coming soon).
