Some dope Rolling Roadshow Movie Posters from Olly Moss..
With our just-ended summer schedule, we’re a bit late to the party on this one, but it’s still worth a mention for the sheer beauty of the artwork involved. Rolling Roadshow is an annual film tour that travels throughout the USA offering free screenings of classic movies in the locales they were filmed or where the story line took place. While that’s cool and all, it’s this year’s movie posters that we’re interested in, being nothing short of awesome. My fave is the almost logo-like treatment of Robocop (above) followed by the stark minimalist treatment of Dirty Harry (below). Imagine framed copies of the series. Nice. Other movies include The Blues Brothers, On the Waterfront, The Godfather, Rocky, Convoy and Jackie Brown.Designed by famous poster artist and illustrator Olly Moss, the posters were available for purchase at the various screenings last month, though I’m sure they’ll show up somewhere on the interwebs. For the time being, you can check out the entire series here. One of the most impressive aspects of the collection is how Moss, taking a wide range of movies, themes and disparate graphic elements and turned the entire shooting match into a brand for the tour. Which is why you’ve found it on a logo design blog.
