About: A corporate logo design for Payless Wedding Favors – a company that retails wedding and party favors at low prices. Naturally, the company’s demographic consists of brides looking to buy a substantial quantity of favors at the best price.

Logo Brief: Sometime, logo simplicity is just what the doctor ordered. As in the case of Payless Wedding Favors new corporate identity. The logo was to be utilized as the company’s main brand, as well as the logo for their newly released web site. The client had already settled on the colors (matched to their web site) and needed a horizontal logo that would fit into a navigation bar.

Our designers had to be wary of the conversion of ‘brides’ and ‘discount’ and while the logo needed to portray discount pricing, the client was apprehensive about the logo appearing ‘cheap’ or ‘tawdry’. A simple approach was taken with a decorated gift box with a price tag flourish. The price tag was set at a horizontal angle (rather than an an angle which might have cheapened the look). Adding the Payless logo to the tag further integrates the icon into the overall design. Naturally, we avoided using a dollar bill symbol like the plague.
