About: A corporate logo design for a gangster-themed sports bar and restaurant in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Logo Brief: Tommi Gunz uses a gangster theme throughout the restaurant, from the menu, to mob movies playing on monitors throughout, to the decor – looking like it’s been shot up. This logo uses all the tricks – bullet holes as part of the type & font work, a super-high perspective viewpoint (this makes the figure self contained – important when developing collateral design material and add-on material). The logo is rendered as two color artwork – more economical for logo apparel and marketing incentives – T-shirts, mugs, etc. When developing a character driven logo design like Tommi Gunz, the character is usually sketched out beforehand in rough, and after preliminary approval, created as vector art using design software. This saves development time and allows for a more client tailored design. It also requires the talents of a designer with developed illustrator skills as well as technical prowess using design software.
