About: A logo design for Sterling DJ Services – a Canadian based Disc Jockey service featuring DJ services for weddings, nightclubs and social events.

Logo Brief: Sterling DJ is a Disc Jockey service serving the Edmonton, Alberta area, entertaining at weddings, private parties, corporate functions, nightclubs and even school dances. Sterling wanted to revamp their image, bringing it more in line with their emphasis on “professional, quality and fun”. The music company logos also needed to be “fresh” enough to appeal to younger students. Colors were to be limited to the company’s earlier scheme – black and red, but the logo still had to reproduce in black and white for one of their main advertising avenues – yellow pages. Our designers used two fairly simple conceptual ingredients – sound waves and a mirror ball – to convey the concept of the idea The logo was also to be recreated as a flash animation, for screensaver, web and on-site use via TV monitors. Project Brief: As an additional marketing effort, many of our clients opt for a Flash Logo-Lick – a short self-contained animation of their primary logo.
