Liquor store logo – Knotty Pine Beer, Wine & Spirits.

About: A logo design for Knotty Pine Liquor – a liquor store specializing in beer, wine & spirits.

Logo Brief: In order to emphasize the theme of their liquor store, the client wanted their logo to feature a ‘treelike’ font and wanted to incorporate other ‘conservation’ accents like pine cones, trees and/or mountains into their design. With none readily available, our designers had to create the ‘treelike’ font set from scratch, but kept it simple enough to allow the logo’s use on signs, packaging and labels. Once the Knotty Pine logo font set was finalized, our designers added design accents (the pine cone, trunk rings) and added a complementary font for the Liquor under-text. In order to encompass the ‘beer, wine & spirits’ tagline, a ribbon was placed across the logo. It too received a wood treatment. Despite the apparent detail in this logo, it remains a spot color rendering and as such can be utilized in economical printing. See Duffy’s Sports Bar & Beer Logo for a similarly themed sample.
