Company logo – The Brathaus business logos.

About: A company logo design for The Brathaus – a specialty food company. The business logos shown will serve as the company’s main brand, as well as the main ‘bug’ on all food packaging.

Logo Brief: The client was fairly specific in their client brief – “I would like our company logo to look “German” with sort of Bauhaus, 1920s feel to it, simple but very cool, with some edge. I would also like to incorporate the colors of the German flag – black, red and gold-yellow. I want our customers to see the brand and see a product with German influence although it will be made in California”.

“I also want the company logo to be round with a large, old style letter B in the middle. The fonts for the letter B I like are Maximilian Gotisch and Breitkopf Fraktur”.

The company sells pre-cooked bratwurst in the specialty food market but wanted their brand mark to be suitable for gourmet bratwurst, not what they describe as “mystery meat bratwurst you can get at the grocery store”. One of the main selling points of this company is that their product is all natural with no fillers or artificial ingredients.

Like many of the business logos shown on our site, this design consists of full blown four-color artwork – sometimes problematic when it comes to reproduction. Accordingly, our designers also created a library of black and white, linear and spot (flat) versions for uses other that full color reproduction.
