About: A logo design for Hudson Family Table – a web-based restaurant advertising service that sends restaurant, food, diner and eatery related ‘of interest’ items to their subscribers.

Logo Brief: This isn’t the logo that the client ultimately finalized on, but pretty nifty all the same. Hudson’s Family Table is a web-based restaurant & diner advertising company that sends menus, shopping lists and other related ‘of interest’ items to their subscribers. In order to combat the perceived impersonal nature of the Internet, Hudson’s wanted their logo to reflect old fashioned charm – family dinner time, etc. To accomplish this, we worked up a series of ‘Retro-50’s’ type icons based on reference from several restaurant and diner designs from the era. We also used a 50s style monochromatic (greyscale) color palette and font treatment to drive the point home. As noted earlier, this proposal was ultimately rejected for another design, but we thought the workup captured the original mandate pretty closely and is more than worthy of inclusion in our Daily Logo.
