About: A logo design for Green Biofuels – an organic biodiesel refinery and supplier.

Logo Brief: It’s a pretty safe bet that for the foreseeable future, many companies and organizations will be marketing themselves as ‘green’ – environmentally friendly – as a way to attract clients and customers who are ecology conscious. In fact, if you search on Google for green companies, you’ll see that tens of thousands of companies have already started. Accordingly, more and more TLF logo projects involve working with clients who want to ‘green it up’.

Green Machine Bio fuels is one such company. Billing themselves as one of first — if not the first — bio diesel producers in the Lower British Columbia Mainland when the company is fully operational in the autumn of 2007. Canadian owned and operated and based in Delta, British Columbia, Green Machine Bio fuels is dedicated to producing top quality bio fuels and converting non-food vegetable oils to bio diesel.

When it came to the brand development for their fledgling company, Green Machine didn’t have any preconceived notions of what they wanted – so rather than supplying our logo designers with a complete brief simply listed a series of keywords they wanted their logo to imply – ‘environmentally good, natural fuel, Kyoto compliant, clean burning engine, natural’. With the limited details, our design team ran with their own creative vibe and developed the icon featured above. While graphically simple – the logo actually illustrates what the client’s process consists of – namely, the conversion of vegetable oils to a bio fuel. Colors selected were pretty well pre-ordained. Green for environment.
