Church logos – Alliance Church Group.

Client: Alliance Ministries.
Design Category: Religious, Church, Spiritual.
About: A logo design for Alliance – a Texas Based community church.
Logo Brief: Alliance Church describes themselves as “a ministry for people who don’t like church.’ Alliance reaches out to the “Un-Churched”- those with little or limited involvement in any religious organization. We specifically chose a nontraditional”church logo” designer because we want an identity that will appeal to those who are not necessarily ALREADY involved in their faith”. The church boasts a very active web site and Internet community, so the logo was to be web friendly, as well as adaptable to print. As always, designing any logo for a religious or spiritual endeavor requires that the designer carefully consider the sensibilities of the client. Religious logos are generally more conservative that other categories and as such, a strong design will generally stand out from the pack. Many designers are timid about pushing the envelope, and end up with traditional religious symbols – that’s why Alliance contracted The Logo Factory to create an unorthadox logo. We also developed an indentity for the children group housed by Alliance.
Church logo – Quest Kids Church Group.
Client: Alliance Church.
Design Category: Religious, Church, Spiritual.
About: A logo design for Quest Kids – the children’s division of the Alliance Ministry & Church Group that shares the Bible message through religious teachings and ‘kid friendly’ activities. Having already worked on the development of the original Alliance church logo, we were subsquently tasked to creative a sub-brand for the younger members of the parish.

Logo Brief: When developing a religious or spiritual logo, a designer must use a level of taste, sensitivity and understanding of the religious icons involved. We have developed many logos for church groups and ministries, but none of the lessons learned really applied for the Quest Kids logo Created for the Alliance Ministry as part of their overall branding program, the client wanted a logo that had ‘buzz’ and would appeal to their market – Grades 1 through 6. Our designers were encouraged to think out of the box – for religious symbols- and come up with something the kids could identify with. We used bright (neon) colors and large childlike logo fonts to make the logo easily recognized.
Client Overview: “Alliance Church reaches out to multi-ethnic & international families. Quest Kids is the children’s ministry of Alliance that shares the Bible message through the use of video, music, powerpoint and multimedia. Plans are in the works for a TV show. The target kids and their parents tend to be middle class, tech-savvy, & English dominant”.

As an add-on to the original church logo project, our designers were also contracted to create a logo for Quest Kids Jr. – for preschoolers – which required a different approach (above).
