Custom logos – Logopalooza Podcast and Book logo creation.
Client: The Logo Factory Inc. (Internal marketing).
Design Category: Custom podcast logo.
About: An internal logo design for The Logo Factory Podcast series & Free Logo Book Download (see right). This was also used as the theme of our original studio blog (changed to The Logo Factor winter of 2006).
Logo Brief: At The Logo Factory, we’re always working on new ways to help clients and site visitors sift their way through the myriad of information and opinions regarding logo design and the creation of custom identity artwork. When we began the creation of Logopalooza – The Logo Factory podcast series and logo design blog, (and this should go without saying) we obviously needed to create a logo. Being The Logo Factory, is was our solemn duty (okay, maybe not so solemn) to ‘brand’ our own podcast and create a logo that fit into the main theme. We wanted our podcast to be a little less informal than a lot of our other marketing material, and we wanted to steer clear of any ‘Factory’ motif. We wanted a ‘funky’ little character – to tie in with the planned multimedia aspect of the podcast and informal style of our blog.
This logo creation began as a simple BW (above left) that was developed from some preliminary (and very rough) custom scribbles. The logo font was developed to be rough-hewn, almost hand written. Colors were to be unique to Logopalooza (as opposed to the purple colors generally used by our web site). All in all, Logopalooza was to be developed as a separate entity to any previous TLF logo (similar to a product or sub-brand logo). Depending on the usage, the logo was created in various aspect ratios and with additional ‘bugs’ like the pod cast number and/or release date (see below). The main logo will also be featured on our Logopalooza site – now in preproduction.
