Creating a logo – House of Electronics & Audio corporate logos.
Client: House of Electronics.
Design Category: Entertainment – wholesale & retail.
About: Corporate Logo Design for House of Electronics – a retail and wholesale supplier of audio and video products for the home and car market.
Logo Brief: House of Electronics is a major supplier of consumer electronic and audio products, including home audio/video and car audio/video products. HOE serves their market through both retail and distribution and were looking to improve their branding and to unify all their marketing efforts under a series of company logos that would speak to their various market segments.
The client was looking for an iconic logo treatment for his main brand, with only one caveat – when we were creating their corporate mark, we needed to use the company’s corporate colors; black and red in any workup. Our designers attempted creating several abstract sketches and doodles, before settling in on a fairly illustrative treatment of a speaker. We selected simple, bold fonts, as this particular design is to be reproduced on a lot of low-resolution media, more specifically newspaper ads, which don’t work well for more complex designs and finer text treatments. The speaker contains fairly bold blends which will achieve decent reproduction when reproduced using the coarser screens of newsprint publications.
The corporate logos for House of Electronics are good examples of a situation where opting for the simple and straightforward visual solution is the most effective approach to use when designing a logo.
