About: One could think that this was part of a design project for a real, honest to goodness safari park. Uh-uh. It was actually one of a series of concepts for an company that specialized in importing African themed art and furnishing. The idea was to have this long-necked fellah as a ’sign holder’ - the artwork could be featured on store sign design and displays, with the variations combined with pricing, calls to action, etc. While this logo (with logo fonts - now removed) managed to get into the final rounds of concepts, it was ultimately discarded as being ‘too cute’. Though, as a free design, we can say the price is right...

About: If this little guy doesn't melt your heart, well then you don't have one. Created originally for a dog breeder who wanted to expand his company small business marketing presence, this pet logo preliminary almost made it as the final brand. After some last-minute discussions, everybody ending up agreeing that the logo was too breed-specific (the client wanted to feature a wide range of breeds) and the logo was reworked to be more generic to all dogs.

About: This sketch-like treatment originally conceived as a horse logo was developed during the initial phases of a project for an Equestrian Ranch but tossed for a more traditional approach. Almost watercolor-like in treatment, and gesture drawing like in style, the icon shown is a two color design with screens of the primary colors making up the shading. The file contains a variation of the design contained within a bounding box, but that version tends to negate the strengths of the original concept. About: This icon was for an air conditioning company logo that boasted the 'Tiger' name. Using a fairly elegant, yet bold, treatment of a tiger, this icon was discarded for a more traditional industry themed design. Still, it would be really, really, appropriate for any company that just happened to be called 'Tiger'. If you have air conditioning or HVAC services in the name too - even better.
